Our World’s Greatest Foe

Do we humans in our folly,

            Grant credence to the fact,

Our wisdom oft flawed,

            Emotions do contend.

That we face not our demons,

            Nor strike back against deceit?

Yet stand midst the battle,

            Our voices to scream,

Our pain, a ballad

            Heard only by the deaf.

Why does our pride,

            Hero’s garland we claim,

Defeat all logic,

            That war may never end.

For who is our enemy,

            That so simple a ruse

Leaves confusion and conjecture,

            New weapons to defeat?

Think not, noble warriors,

            Your enemy to destroy,

For the arms raised against you,

            Were made not of steel,

Mere straightforward the shield,

            Carried by Silence, indisputable foe.

For D & J

To D & J

Dawn, sun revisits consuming the dew of night,

You stir, you body warm to my touch.

Tranquil the face I love, beauty unrivaled,

Your lips, moist, alluring beckon to be savored.

A kiss, one kiss a taste of nirvana,

A starving soul, awash in desire,

Craving never to be sated.

As you sleep, your eyes wander,

What visions do they see

Is your love for me one?

As I lay beside you, my arm pillow for your head,

Your hair a wave of silk breaking over it.

How easy it is to love you,

Your beauty none can decry,

Your spirit, untouched by evil,

Inspiration withheld from few.

For to love you is an honor,

To receive it, a treasured gift

Bestowed by only you.

Hello Stranger

Welcome to my world,

My life in so many degrees.

Have you come to bring abundance,

Is love your burden to release?

Do you seek to touch another,

Perhaps more to share your soul’s wealth?

Does your future hold romance,

That heart might harvest anew?

Would the soul afore you,

Long adrift midst inner confusion,

Realize new day lies in reach?

For tomorrow, the person you so

Timidly aspire to will walk away.

No longer imprisoned by false vision

In your mind, your path now clear,

For you have looked into heart’s real mirror.

Love of self, rightful gift we must give unto

Ourselves, before we can love another.

If This Be Love

Have you come to wonder,

What path your heart may take?

Does the thought of a single word,

Stir passions long awaiting?

Look not without, your soul to search

For that you seek, is well at hand.

Feelings, a sense, your spirit to raise,

 Reach not to far horizons,

But seek within, let it grow,

Nurture that which is you.

That you may realize

 Genuine esteem of self,

Your spirit shall rise,

Your heart made full

For within these words

Your future holds dear.

I am me, none other exists.

I am worthy of your affection,

My heart set free,

For my love of self, allows to be.

Ode to Opinions

It is my belief, my thoughts vital to me.

By my thinking, my sentiments are feelings meant to be free.

The impression you get, surely position of care,

A marvelous viewpoint reflects your stance others beware.

Not poor judgment your theory for your outlook is true,

No assumption of love your verdict sound conclusion by you.

For no school of thought, tenet or dogma defies,

My contentious conviction, my creed for our lives.

The idea, no notion, love is strength as I see it,

Is pure in my mind, mere speculation the culprit.

Right is my attitude, sound perspective my slant,

Let others disclaim with opinions and rant

I’ll stand for love as not thesis, hypothesis nor estimation,

Always for me, love ever my soul’s destination.
